The Trench design document


The Trench is a First Person Shooter based on modern infantry combat.


The engine, Xfinity, is using XNA. Originally, it was going to be ray traced on the Xbox, but that would have only provided enough horse power for maybe 30 frames per second; not including game and AI logic.


The engine is designed as a fairly modular construction.

The first class that was built was the Camera class. This was a very fundamental class; basically a few Matrices and Vector3s.
